Elementary School
The elementary general music program offers a challenging curriculum. Students in Grades K through 3 learn to play Orff instruments (xylophones, metalaphones, and glockenspiels). Students in grades 4 and 5 learn the soprano recorder and the cuatro (a Venezuelan folk instrument) all as an ensemble. Further they sing songs from various cultures, and begin to learn how to read music notation. They have music class twice a week between 30 and 45 minutes depending on the grade.
