Hello and welcome to the great world of
sounds !!!
Mr. Leslie Pozo is the current Band
teacher at EBV. In the Band classroom the students have the opportunity
to have fun and learn at the same time by playing the instruments
they prefer. They start attending the Band program at grade five
and the program runs up to grade twelve. This class is an elective
and opened for all the students who are interested.

This is not part of the Band program, but it
is part of the Instrumental program. In this class, students learn
how to play both Recorder flute and the Venezuelan's national folk
instrument "El Cuatro". They are also introduced to the Band program
by trying some of the instruments at the end of the school year.

Elementary Band: Students learn the basic techniques
and concepts in playing an instrument. Repertory and methods are
designed to develop their skills in a very fun way. At the same
time, they play music from all over the world and participate in
all the concerts and events that the school plans during the year.
This class meets twice a week as a full class.

|
Middle School Band: This is a continuation of
the Elementary Band, and takes the students to a deeper experience
on the instruments. Repertory and methods are much more challenging
but still fun. This Band participates also in all the events and
concerts, and beside this, they also attend invitations from the
local community to play in places like schools and hospitals. This
class meets everyday as a full class.

Ensemble (High School Band): This is the final
stage at EBV for the instrumental music program. Here the students
prepare a very wide repertory playing songs that range from a classical
to a popular field. They meet every other day (Blue or Gold day)
and also participate in school concerts and events as well as doing
community services like the middle school band does.
