Requirements for the IB Diploma

A student has to choose 6 academic. These include one from each of Groups 1 – 5. For the sixth subject a student can choose from French B, ITGS, the other Science or Visual Art (Group 6). The six groups are represented in the IBD Hexagon.

In addition, the student has to complete the Core of the Hexagon, which includes:

•  Theory of Knowledge – 100 hours of course work with an oral presentation and an essay
•  The Extended Essay - a 4000-word research paper on a topic of the student's choice
•  CAS (Creativity, Action and Service) – 150 hours

On successful completion of the all of the above, the student will receive the International Baccalaureate Diploma at the end of the two year program.
