   • Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is an important part in the advancement of science education. EBV strives to incorporate technology to its greatest capacity, in order to enhance scientific inquiry.

   • Instructional time is highly organized and planned to maximize the learning potential of each student.

   • We incorporate the action verbs of IB science and grade level appropriate scientific terminology.
4. Use/Incorporation of the Scientific Method
   • We strive to implement the scientific process and incorporate IB methodology at every grade level to help the student understand and adapt to a world that is continuously changing and to accept change as a necessary part of life.
5. Use/Incorporate Grade Appropriate Lab Skills and Techniques
   • EBV provides students with plentiful opportunities to make authentic connections to the world around them through the use of grade level lab practices that lead to the development of deeper scientific understanding.

Science Department Philosophy

The science department of Escuela Bella Vista is committed to excellence in teaching chemistry, physical, earth and biological sciences. The faculty seeks to incorporate technology and provide high quality, hands-on experiences that foster critical thinking, and the development of laboratory skills. This will give students ample opportunities to evolve into independent, life-long learners. All laboratory courses incorporate modern technology to help students form valid conclusions about the accuracy and precision of their experimental results. The communication of their findings is also a critical part of each course. All aspects will challenge individual students to develop independent thinking and reasoning skills in regards to science and the scientific method.
